    • Pre-teaching

    Teacher sends a video or a video transcript (Worksheet 1) to the students to watch. Teacher asks the students to answer the questions (Worksheet 2) after watching the video. Teacher checks the students’ answers and divides the students into diversified groups depending on the level of understanding/ achievement and the way they answer the questions.

  • Apply and Learn (50 minutes)

    Teacher asks the students to work in their previously assigned groups (divided in Phase 1) and do the tasks on Worksheet 3. Students work in groups to do the assigned tasks. Teacher provides them with the video transcript, in case they need to revisit some information. Teacher asks them to be ready to share their work with others. Teacher monitors and gives feedback. Students share their answers with others. Students edit and take notes.

  • Listen and Learn More (30 minutes)

    Teacher prepares a mini presentation (PowerPoint 1) and focuses on the main points of the lesson. Teacher highlights the points that were raised by the students in Worksheet 1 and makes sure they know the answers. Students take notes and summarize the rules.

    Collaborate and Elaborate (20 minutes)

    Teacher invites the students to work in groups again and do some more exercises (Worksheet 4). Teacher draws the students’ attention to the context clues to guess the mood and monitors and facilitates the students’ work. Students work in groups to do the assigned tasks.

  • Reflect and Take Notes (50 minutes)

    Teacher asks the students to check their answers, reflect, and take notes of key points they managed to tackle. Teacher monitors and helps the students. Teacher provides feedback. Students discuss their answers, compare them to the right answers, and edit accordingly. Students take notes and share what they learned with others once they finish.

  • Evaluate and Assess (50 minutes)

    Teacher provides a test (Test) to check the students’ understanding with an answer key and students take the test. Teacher corrects the test and provides individual feedback.
